Margaritas anyone?

Happy Campers!

We love to go camping, so when I saw this collection from American Crafts, Campy Trails, I couldn't resist.  It has a large variety of papers and embellishments to suit all those outdoor activities; camping, fishing and hiking being my three favorite.  Here's a quick layout.  I used the Winnie The Pooh font from Cricut and Core'dinations paper to make the letters appear to be made of wood.

Road To Recovery

Last week I had the pleasure of attending the Moxxie Very Merry Unbirthday Party at the Craft & Hobby Association conference.  Moxxie is releasing several new lines (check out their blog), and I wanted to share this one in particular today even though it is not yet available in our store.  The Road To Recovery collection caught my attention immediately; while it's often a difficult subject to discuss, this collection allows the patient to express their feelings via art and journaling.  You can also create pages for others to put in encouraging thoughts.  It can also be brought to the hospital to provide support for the patient.  There are endless uses for this collection, all while providing support, understanding, encouragement and reflection.

Getting ready for summer!

We have been having some unseasonably warm weather over the past few days, so I started thinking about summer and remembered that I had a project I needed to get working on.  Back in August I won a tiki bar...a real, 8' tall, thatched roof tiki bar that needs some decorating.  So while I was in a summer mood, I decided to work on the sign.  Using my Cricut (Life Is A Beach cartridge), I cut out some letters and shapes.  While those were cutting, I worked on painting the background of the sign and adhering the cork board (my favorite for simulating sand).  Then I put it all together (using my Xyron for the letters to make sure that the letters were really stuck on there good).  Now all I need is a margarita in my hand and my day will be complete!
