She sure was a special delivery!

Many of you know that I affectionately call my daughter crazy!  Mostly because she is, but also because she just makes us laugh with the funny things she does.  Like yesterday...she drove the car right into the side of the garage, then came into the house to tell me that she needed me to back the car out of the garage because it was on too much of an angle for her.  It would have been nice of her to tell me that BEFORE she took out the side of the garage.

Anyway, this layout features her first day on this Earth and the latest Moxxie release, Special Delivery. I also used some Core'dinations paper and sanded it to bring out the pink tones.  We just got this collection in yesterday, so it'll take me a day or two to get it on the website.  There is also an equivalent blue-themed Special Delivery collection that we also received.  Both collections feature several double-sided papers, rub ons, and a 12 x 12 sticker sheet.

Some patriotic altered art!

As many of you know, I like to supplement my scrapbooking habit with various altered art projects.  Today's post features a "USA" piece of art that I created using the Hometown Celebration collection from Moxxie and a few, inexpensive chipboard letters from the local hobby store.

I used Zip Dry glue to adhere the paper to the letters.  After it dried, I trimmed around the letters with a craft knife (doesn't need to be precise), and then I sanded the letters to remove any excess paper.  Then I chalked the sides of the letters with Cat's Eye chalk ink to give it a clean finish.  Then all you need to do is glue the individuals letters as you wish and decorate.

It really is a GRAND canyon!

Last year we visited the Grand Canyon for the very first time and let me just say, it is breathtaking!  Photos just don't do it justice, and I never imagined the vastness of it until I actually saw it in person.

I created this layout shortly after returning from our trip.  It was created using the Reminisce Passports Collection.  The collection features a double-sided paper and sticker sheet for many different attractions, cities and countries.  I also used an EK Success tree punch to create the top border.

You are the flip for my flop!

We have been getting hit hard with a heat wave here in the midwest, so I went searching for a layout that would cool me off.  I didn't have to look hard to find this one!

The Snorkel Collection from Cosmo Cricket has always been one of my favorite.  Although it's not a new collection, it is still a go-to collection for me when I am scrapping vacation or water-themed pictures.  The colors are vibrant & fun, and the patterns make me feel like I'm swimming in the ocean.  In this layout I also used some Core'dinations color core paper for matting.

Who doesn't love a s'more?

One of my families' favorite pastimes is camping.  Frankly, I think it's more because of the s'mores than it is for the love of the outdoors!

This layout features The Great Outdoors collection from Reminisce.  The papers are fun and the collection offers several choices for your outdoor, camping or nature layouts.  We used the Core'dinations color core paper to make the photo mats look like graham crackers along with a cute embellishment from EK Success (Jolee's).

It's a Holly Jolly Christmas by Echo Park Paper Co.

Here's a sneak peak of Echo Park Paper's new Holly Jolly Christmas collection.  It will be available mid-September for all those crafters who need to start their projects early.

I love the colors in this collection.  They are bright and fun, and the mix of traditional and non-traditional colors make this collection pop.

Which is your favorite?

My niece is expecting her first baby in December and she's asked me to make the baby shower invites!  I can't wait to come up with a final design, but in the meantime, here's a few that I've designed so far.  I would love to have feedback on them...like them, hate them, wrong colors, too cutesy, etc.?  For tomorrow's post I'll tally up the results and also tell you which one is my favorite so far.

It's CHA Week!

CHA (the Craft & Hobby Association) holds a trade show every six months where manufacturers display the newest additions to their product lines.  For me, I get to go and decide which new collections I'm going to carry in the store.  The energy of thousands of women shopping for paper crafting supplies is just incredible.  I find it to be the equivalent of taking a hungry kid into a candy shop.  I want it all!!!

This year's show started out with a bang.  I attended a pre-show party with Moxxie and chose these four new collections:

Party at the Pole

Racing

Bake Shoppe

and last, but not least, Special Delivery
All these collections will be in stock in a few weeks, so check back for project ideas.  They had some great layouts posted at the party as well, which I'm sure they'll post on their blog, Got Moxxie.  Check it out for some cool ideas!
